Inboard outboard trim not working
WebMay 24, 2024 · I have a Trophy 2502 inboard/outboard and the power tilt and trim actuates but does not lower. I was able to move it up without a problem but I cannot get it to lower. This happened once before and I was able to get it working just by pushing down on it and it worked fine afterward but now it is stuck. I did store it in the WebCheck for any loose or frayed wires and tighten or replace them as necessary. If the wiring looks good, then the problem may be with the sensor itself. You will need to find where all the wires go to, make yourself a wiring diagram of what you have, and compare it to how the oem wiring is setup. From the picture below, Where do the three wires marked (A) go to, assuming a trim switch, which terminals. Where does the bundle of blue wires (B) go to.

If it does, but no motor movement, it is likely that the trim motor itself has an open winding. If you want to do the same test, only pushing the trim DOWN button, simply reverse the meter leads, then push trim DOWN. Should also read +12v.
